  1. Provide staff development to include training in: NCPI and ABA or other research-based methodologies related to addressing the needs of students with behavior difficulties; develop training materials, publications and resources for teachers.
  2. Provide supervision to BCBA candidates within the District if requested
  3. Provide behavioral assessment of individual students as requested by site Principals and the Director of Special Education.
  4. Assist District staff in developing and implementing behavior plans, ABA programs, etc. for students with Autism and/or other disabilities that present behavior/learning  challenges.
  5. Work with school site committees in the admission, placement and evaluation of students in classes with behavioral  support.
  6. Communicate to parents the behavioral needs of students and the plan for supporting students with disabilities.

BCBA BEHAVIOR/AUTISM SPECIALIST

$99,480 - $148,771

Santa Maria, CA

  • Masters Degree or higher in Special Education/Educational Specialist field.
  • Possess Board Certified Behavior Analyst Certification (BCBA)
  • Experience writing behavior plans for students with behavior difficulties, to include students with Autism, emotional disturbance, TBI, etc.4
  • ABA or similar research-based training experience and training
  • 3 years minimum experience working as a behavior or autism specialist or related field.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with staff and families.
  • Knowledgeable of best practices and laws governing behavioral supports for students with disabilities.
  • Pupil Personnel Credential in School Psychology or School Counseling; or Educ. Spec. Credential Mod/Severe or Mild/Mod with Autism Certification.
